My name is Gesa Schole and I have a degree in translation and a Ph.D. in linguistics.
At Heidelberg University, I studied translation for Portuguese and Spanish with a focus on law, and I also took courses in engineering, business, and medicine. Since I really enjoyed my studies, I went on to earn a master’s degree in linguistics at the University of Bremen and taught German as a foreign language. During that time, I also worked as a research assistant in a Collaborative Research Center on spatial cognition, which gave me a deeper insight into research and led me to pursue a Ph.D. at the University of Tübingen. I then devoted another six years to research and teaching as an instructor in technical translation at the University of Hildesheim. There, I was also able to receive further training in audio description for the blind (in theaters and museums) and captioning for the hearing impaired before I decided to return to my original profession and start my own business.
